THE WEST CORNWALL GARLIC COMPANY was formed by Simon Drewitt in 2022. Simon’s family goes back generations in both fishing and farming around West Penwith in Cornwall. Simon’s mother, Ruth Glasson, lived in Newlyn where his grandfather Tom Glasson’s family fished and nearby his grandmother, Esme Rodda’s family, farmed.

Simon’s father, Chris Drewitt met Ruth whilst he was working for the family Architectural practice in Penzance. The Drewitt’s designed numerous buildings in West Cornwall. In 1922, Simon’s great grandfather Frederick Drewitt designed the remodelling of the iconic domed Lloyds bank in Penzance.

Simon, prior to farming garlic, directed television commercials and Nikki, his partner for many years, worked for various charities. Simon and Nikki, before settling in West Cornwall lived in London.

THE WEST CORNWALL GARLIC COMPANY grows and supplies numerous retail outlets and acclaimed restaurants with great tasting, sustainably farmed pesticide-free Cornish garlic. The garlic is now available to buy online.
